Abstract

It is not always easy to visualise exactly what a CAQDAS (Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis)package offers when exploring it for the first time yourself. Equally, when asking someone else for their opinion, it is not always easy to know which questions you should be asking.

This paper offers a summary of types of software for managing textual or qualitative data as a starting point for thinking about which one may be most suited to the type of project and data you are working with and the way you like to work.
