Abstract

A concise and practical guide that describes and defines inclusive research - how we can recognise it,understand it, do it and know when it is done well. The book addresses the areas of overlap and distinctiveness between participatory, emancipatory, user-led and partnership research, exploring the various practices encompassed within each of these inclusive approaches. It opens with a discussion of how and why inclusive approaches to research have evolved, positioning inclusive research within key debates and shifts in policy. The contested nature of inclusive research is examined and case studies provide practical illustration. The books ends with an evaluation of the challenges for inclusive research and the degree to which they have been met.
