Abstract

MiMeG is different to the other CAQDAS packages reviewed. The software is designed to allow multiple sites to communicate and annotate video data in real-time and therefore enables a different style of collaborative work. This document does not provide an exhaustive account of all the features and functions provided by MiMeG but is designed to highlight some of its distinguishing elements. MiMeG is Open Source software developed as a result of a research project and therefore some of the dilemmas in the research process are included. Chiefly these concern issues connected with the ethics and practicalities of sharing video data across multiple sites.
